Table of Content Analysis

On the left side of page, we see the front cover image again which reveals the name of the area, which is Giant's Causeway. Under the image, it is credits of who contributed to the magazine, which includes editors and the studio. It is then divided by a line to separate the table of contents and the credits. For the cover story, they took a picture of the location and inserted in the spread to draw in the readers. Next to it, they inserted a caption for readers to get into and read the cover story of Derry. Underneath the photo, there will be other highlighted stories and images. The image have the number 8 in the background to  indicate that the image is related to the article on page 8 of the magazine. The 8 guides he reader into the description of The Wren Boys, and if interested will turn to that page. When highlighting a caption, title, or credit, they use a purple color to match with the cover image of the magazine to carry out the theme. The number 8 didn't use purple, so it is able to fit with the black and white image it was used on.

The main photo dominates the content design as if we are getting into the 'water' (water meaning magazine). The surfer's bright surfboard contrast the cool blues of the ocean to show emotions of excitement and hype. The photo is credited at the bottom right with describing when and where the photo was taken and who took it alongside with a quote. The bottom left of the spread is the cover itself and the caption alongside it which describes what is happening in the photo and information on where you can read more about the photo within in the magazine. At the top right, it is the name of the magazine in black with features under it, it indicates the name of the magazine and that this is the table of contents for the magazine. The colors for the page numbers matches the colors of the top part of the wave. They chose this color to reflect the fact that this is a taste of the pages inside, if you dive deeper, there is more to see. The rest of the text is in white for easier eligibility between the blue waves and the text.
The main image is related to the article since it can be found at a local restaurant in Maine, which is shown in the caption. They took a picture of the food with a blue background to make it stand out more die to the contrast of color. On the left, the table of contents is laid over some part of the image and is organized neatly by having main stories being shown with the title and a short description of each one. Under the plus is extra content that the editors put that relates to frequent Downeast's readers. The indicator of this page being a table of contents page is the words Departments and underneath is the issue date. When describing each important article in the magazine, each story title correlates with the same font as Departments to grab the attention of readers. Within each title's description, some words are bolded to highlight keywords that attracts tourists to read the article. The color of the page numbers are orange to contrast the blue that was used.
