FINAL PROJECT

CCR 4

For my final CCR, I decided to create a Prezi in order to answer. I'll leave an outline of what I wrote and a link to the Prezi in case it doesn't work

Audience Research
  • Google Forms- gather data
  • Social Media
    • Discord
    • Instagram
    • Whatsapp
  • All the apps together allow to me to get a range of people and their differentiating opinions in regards what they like to see when traveling
Sketching
  • Notability on an iPad Air
    • The software is easy to use and accessible to make any quick sketches as neat and nice as possible
Editing and Putting Together
  • Adobe Photoshop 2020
    • Used to implement fonts that InDesign didn't provide and easier access to editing images that I felt comfortable with
  • Adobe InDesign CS6
    • Software I used to put my all my content onto a spread
Camera
  • iPhone 11
    • I didn't necessarily have a professional camera in hand in order to take professional photos, and since iPhone 11's camera quality is extremely good, I felt it was an alright alternative to use and I was right!
Computer
  • MacBook Air
    • Used for InDesign and blogging throughout the journey of making the magazine
  • iMac Desktop
    • Used for Photoshop since it have the latest version of Photoshop on there.

CCR 2

For answering my second CCR, I used canva.com in order to create a short article that have context that answers: How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

CCR 1

I decided to create somewhat of an infographic for answering my first CCR. I'll be uploading each individual page here, and will include a link that can viewed in another browser.

Constructing the Double Spread

Alright! One more spread to do, which is my double spread!! As with the last two, I decided to first layout all the items I intended to place in my spread in the layout as my sketch.

After placing everything, I really love how neat and organized everything came out. I added a text wrap for the beginning of the text in order to add an emphasis on the first letter of the word to indicate the beginning of the story. I also added a text wrap on the second page in the middle, because I intend to make a little advertisement of the Wynwood Walls app, which will be a great help to those visiting the area. With that in mind, I decided to focus on creating the ad through Photoshop.
This is the ad I came up with and it fit perfectly in my spread.
Now it's finally time to work on the story!!
Here is the final spread including the story! I made the main image a bit bigger to give it a more dominant feel. I also color coordinated the title/artists within the story and caption in order to guide readers into knowing which mural I was talking about within the story! The page number, title, beginning letter, and the ad all have the same purple text as the TOC, so it is clear and easy to identify this is where the story is located.

Now that all three are done, it's time to reflect on my project and tell you guys all about! I'm so excited to talk about it, so until then!! :D

Constructing the Table of Contents

It's a new day and it is now time to construct my table of contents! I already sketched out my table of contents a few blog posts ago, in which I'll follow!

Here is a rough start I did for my table of contents page. I really liked how all the images come together nicely and have somewhat of a hue of blue throughout all images, which I find pretty neat. Sunshine and contents are both in black to allow the readers to read what it said, Adding a border or a shadow drop effect makes it feel as though it had a more serious tone instead of playful, which is why i scratched that idea.

The next step I did is implementing the page number within the images and lay out the text of the table of contents itself.

This was a pretty rough draft of the table of contents. I had to move the divider line I planned on putting on the middle of the spread to make it easier to look at the TOC, but I ran out of room on the right side and had to shift it. I notice I had a bit of space towards the left and decided to consider that in my next stage of making the draft. On a side note, I used a font called STIXGeneral Light for the titles in the TOC to make it easier to read, while also keeping a flow of being playful throughout the spread.
After rearranging that previous mess of all the text being everywhere, I settled with arranging it like this. The text underneath the title was in Bangla MN as it was with the cover. I was able to bring the divider line back to the middle, while leaving room on both sides to allow equal spacing. I pick the colors by either picking a color from the picture (Mural and Food) or picking a fitting color myself that I gathered from my previous research (Red= traffic, Green= merchandise, and Vice City Pink= to contrast the basketball court that was painted vice city blue). Although this TOC was quite a struggle, I'm very happy with how it came out and now it's time to prepare for the double spread construction. See you then!! :]
